He is incredibly strange. Do y [...] I guess that tracks, though. Annie was never going to marry a normal person.

I didn't feel like I was in a position to ask you for a favor.

What do you mean?

Okay, fine. I didn't want to give you the opportunity to snub me. [...] I know I should just ask someone else for help, but it's embarrassing. I told you because you always act like it's exciting and [...] cool.

She's not brainwashing him.

[...] That sounds way more like you're flirting with me than "I'd like to see your spinal growths" does, for the record.

Of course you don't. [...] There are a lot of reasons to want to get married. I think I'd be more concerned about her if she was just doped up on falling love. She seems like she's pretty level-headed about it.

If you keep saying things like th No, I know.

I'm sure. I'm still not sure exactly what it is or how it works, but it does explain a lot about my life.

I let Dr. Magdy know. And I had an appointment with Dr. Sutherland today. They were both [...] reassuring, but maybe not as concerned as I think they ought to be.

Enoch, I just got engaged.

I wouldn't ever use my power on purpose. I have no intention of strengthening it. You know that, right?

I am happy.

I don't care how useful it is. I'd like to know its limitations and how I can neutralize it. Will you help me?

Ha ha. Take it up with Kant.

Thank you. Really. I was thinking it would be helpful for you to just observe my interactions with people for the next few days. I'll keep note of how I'm feeling and if I notice any changes in other's behaviors toward me; you can keep note of whether you see any falseness or illusion.

If that doesn't yield anything, I had considered reaching out to Maximillian. It would be quite obvious if I was able to intentionally manipulate his moods or his opinion of me. I know that's unethical, but [...] sometimes you have to go a little mad to be the best scientist haha

She's not brainwashing us [...] They probably spend a lot of time mind-linked. Maybe there's just no point in dragging things out when they can hear each other's thoughts all the time.

Yes, you can see my spinal growths.

It would make sense if they don't actually touch each other that often. [...] Not that it's any of our business. [...] Except I caught him lying to her about something recently and I was wondering how he managed it.

[...] How often are we going to need to do this?

I told her, but we haven't talked about it since then. [...] I didn't think she would think it was a big deal, for what it's worth. But he then he was like "Annie can literally never know about this". It was weird.

When did that happen?
